The Asian Heritage Center is thrilled to announce its upcoming art exhibition, titled “Courage,” featuring the works of Filipino American artist Elaine Antonio Bordeaux. This eagerly anticipated event will be hosted at the Asian Heritage Center and will showcase a remarkable collection of art pieces that celebrate Philippine heritage and explore the theme of courage in various artistic forms.
Elaine Antonio Bordeaux is a multi-talented visual artist. Her work represents her life, faith, and beliefs, taking a personal approach to her subject matter. Elaine draws on her life experiences in the United States, her heritage, and her aspirations for the community she serves. The diversity of life, embodied through elements of courage, love, beauty, and strength, is an inspiration and each sculpture shows admiration for the person featured in her work. She often focuses on courageous people as her subjects, empathizing with each individual story and struggle. “This connects to my own approach to life and my journey as a refugee lawyer in the United States where I advocated for victims of forced migrations.” said Elaine Bordeaux.
“In celebration of the Filipino American History Month this October, we are truly honored to host Elaine Antonio Bordeaux’s ‘Courage’ exhibition at the Asian Heritage Center,” said Cynthia Aki, founder of Golden Lotus Foundation at the center. “Bordeaux’s art speaks to the heart and soul, and her exploration of courage aligns perfectly with our center’s mission to celebrate and promote Asian heritage. This exhibition promises to be a captivating and thought-provoking experience for all attendees.”
Bordeaux’s current art project includes the installation of Philippine national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal Legacy Sculpture in Colorado Springs. She is scheduled to show her bronze works “Courage” in Barcelona, Spain on October 16-30, 2023. The “Courage” exhibition will feature a wide array of mediums, including paintings, bronze sculptures, and ceramics and prints. Each piece is a testament to Bordeaux’s artistic prowess and her ability to convey complex narratives through her work.
